Harry Cadle - Harry is the Tour Director. Harry is one of the most experienced motoring event organisers in Australia, having been the Event Director of the Victorian Variety Bash for more than 16 years. After departing from Variety, Harry set up Tour de Europe to cater for a big gap in the market of tours for the 45-70 year age group or those travellers that don't fancy the rigid itineraries of the bus tours or sitting in a bus with 50 other strangers. Tour de Europe caters for adventurous people who like to choose who they travel with and who like to travel at their own speed with the flexibility that travelling by car affords. The third trip (Paris to Venice) was done in 2012 and was as big a success as previous trips, leading to the expansion of the business to cater for annual trips (previously bi-annual) to different destinations.
Harry is another one who loves travelling by car, whether it is in the outback of Australia or the backroads of Europe. As a gourmet and connoissieur of alcoholic beverages, Harry reckons that if you can order two beers in the language of the country you're in then you're set. His favourite cities are St. Petersburg, Budapest, Istanbul and Bangkok and can listen politely to over 50 different languages. He would be stoked to explore more of Russia and would love to see Marrakesh. He would even like to take his 8 year old son with him, in much the same way his parents took him on his first overseas trip - a trip from England to Finland in 1964.
Michael Krape - Michael trained as a journalist after studying film and television at university. Prior to leaving journalism in 1980 to establish a public relations consultancy, he was an editor with Peter Isaacson Publications, publisher of 30+ consumer, trade and special interest newspapers and magazines, including the Sunday Observer and the Southern Cross.
His PR Consultancy handles a wide range of clients (past and present) including Yooralla, the Metropolitan Ambulance Service / Air Ambulance Victoria; IBM; The Vineyard Restaurant, St Kilda; Variety – the children’s charity; Australian Bicentennial Authority; the Refugee Immigration & Legal Centre (RILC) and the Victorian Foundation for the Survivors of Torture (to assist in the media management of 42 West Papuan refugees arriving from Christmas Island); Conrock China; and the Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing.
Michael is also an accomplished travel writer. He has contributed to ‘Escape’ in the Sunday Herald Sun, various publications in the UK and Malaysia; Royalauto; and Ultimate Magazine. He was previously editor of Arrivals + Departures and is currently editor and publisher of Lorenzo Magazine.
Michaels favourite party trick is to dress up as the Italian waiter Gaysignore Lancialungo and impress everybody with his dazzling display of the fantastic Italian service ethic.
